Architecture, Design, and Preservation
Building on the School's focus on using the past as a guide for the future, our research will emphasize heritage conservation and adaptive design and reuse. We aim to explore methods for safeguarding and repurposing historic buildings while addressing contemporary needs, linking adaptive reuse to sustainable development, cultural preservation, and community revitalization. Additionally, we will highlight the financial benefits of reusing structures and adopting regional building practices, while also showcasing the social and community value of heritage. Our research demonstrates heritage's critical role in mitigating climate challenges and will involve partnerships with NGOs, communities, and preservation groups to advocate for the importance of understanding and preserving heritage.
