School of Architecture SEED Grant 2024-2025
The School of Architecture Research and Scholarship Program (SoARS) – Seed Grant (SG) provides seed funds to established faculty initiating new programs of research, scholarship, or creative endeavor or to early career faculty beginning their research programs. Grants up to $25,000 of total funding, as appropriate to the research proposal, are available through this program.
Research Grant Priorities
Proposals are welcome on any themes identified in the School of Architecture Research Priorities, the proposal should:
- Demonstrated alignment with School of Architecture research priorities, including advancing research excellence in these areas, thinking and working together as a school (e.g., crossing sub-disciplinary boundaries), and/or forging stronger partnerships with our local community.
- Potential for high-impact scholarship and/or external funding.
- Potential for bringing additional visibility to the School of Architecture in the proposed area of study.
Eligibility
The following categories are eligible to apply for this program:
- Regular faculty of the School of Architecture, University of Notre Dame are eligible to apply. Adjunct and visiting faculty members are eligible as collaborators with regular faculty.
- Proposals requesting support for ongoing research projects funded by another sponsor, or projects in the final stages of completion are not considered priorities.

Conference Request
The School provides funding to support faculty participation in academic or research conferences, including presenting papers, chairing sessions, or participating in panel discussions. To request travel funding, please complete the form linked below.
