New data from the United States Department of Education also shows that Notre Dame architecture graduates who have completed the Bachelor of Architecture undergraduate program have the lowest debt and highest first-year salary relative to other schools of architecture.
While the School of Architecture has long been aware that our students have a history of 100% job placement upon graduation, it is very gratifying to have data showing that graduates are not just getting jobs, but that they find themselves in strong positions financially compared to peers from other institutions.
This is the first year that the U.S. Education Department has published data allowing students to compare salary and debt levels for specific college programs rather than for entire institutions only. The Wall Street Journal has made the data searchable.
It is easy to see why Notre Dame architecture graduates are so successful by looking at the latest pass rates for Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) 5.0 showing that Notre Dame graduates are passing at higher rates than graduates of other programs. Professor Alan DeFrees, who prepares students for the challenge of the exams in his courses, combed through the data from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards to compile the data below.
