Alumnus Christopher Whelan ‘13 was recently presented with the inaugural Trumbauer Award by the ICAA Philadelphia Chapter.  Whelan was honored for his thesis project:  “America’s Most Historic Square Mile.” Professor Samir Younès served as the thesis advisor for the project.

The ICAA Philadelphia Chapter presents the Trumbauer Award for exceptional classical design work completed by those in the greater Philadelphia area or by designers or firms from outside of the area who completed work centered in Philadelphia.  The award was named for Philadelphia native, Horace Trumbauer, who is known for his traditional architectural contributions during the economic upswing of the Gilded Age in America.
