Over 60 firms packed the Dahnke Ballroom in the new Duncan Student Center on February 20, 2018 for the School of Architecture’s annual career fair.  With graduation and summer vacation fast approaching, 47 graduating students sought full-time employment while a host of second-year, third-year, fourth-year and graduate students sought summer positions.  The School of Architecture holds an independent career fair to cater to the unique needs involved with establishing a career in architecture.

The career fair allows students to learn about opportunities and build relationships with potential employers; and provides firms an opportunity to find well-qualified candidates with skills in both hand drawing and computer rendering, and a strong foundation in building technology as well as theory. Prior to career fair, the School offers career preparation classes to help students sharpen their resumes and portfolios and practice their interview skills.

On day one of the three day event, firms and students met and exchanged resumes and information; and on days two and three, firms conducted individual interviews with candidates.  The School’s goal is to assist students in the exploration of different types of architectural practice while helping them build a strong professional network.
