Javier Cenicacelaya, Chair of INTBAU Spain, is a practicing architect as well as a ​Professor of Architectural Composition at the Universidad del País Vasco. Javier has been editor of the international architectural magazine Composicion Arquitectonica, Art & Architecture. His firm, a partnership with Iñigo Saloña, is known for their remarkable restoration projects, such as the restoration of the Palace of the Regional Government of Bizkaia, as well as their new construction projects, including the School of the Holy Family, the rural center of La Rigada and a building on the historic street of Lacken in Brussels. Together, they have received diverse awards, such as the European Prize for the Reconstruction of the City (Fondation Rotthier) on two occasions, the 2014 Rafael Manzano Prize, and awards from the Basque Country and Navarre Institute of Architects and the Bizkaia Institute of Architects. Javier graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Navarra, a masters degree from Oxford University and a doctorate from the University of Navarra.
