Biography

Thomas Stroka is a project architect at the firm of Duncan G. Stroik Architect. He holds degrees in architecture from the University of Illinois (BSAS) and the University of Notre Dame (MArch). His studies included one year at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Versailles and a semester in the Rome Studies Program. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and California.

Thomas has been drafting projects by hand and rendering in watercolor for new construction projects across the country under the direction of the Principal. Thomas executes construction documents, specifications, and construction administration with the rest of the office staff. The firm's projects are in the civic realm and vary from new construction, restoration, and masterplanning. Thomas believes in the timelessness of Classical architecture for civic buildings and in the durability of natural materials. The firm has won numerous design awards including the Acanthus Award at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the Association of Licensed Architects, and the Palladio Award from Traditional Building.

Thomas has lectured on architecture in Rome at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, for the International Traditional Architecture Gathering, the Society for Catholic Liturgy, the International Contemporary Religious Architecture Conference, and the Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture.
