Biography
Kate received her Master of Architecture and Master of Architectural Design & Urbanism from Notre Dame in 2018. While at Notre Dame, Kate had the opportunity to complete an independent research project on the history of modern Greek architecture and a pattern book for today. Her research was grounded in on-site documentation performed in Athens. Her thesis project, a center for Peace & Religion Studies in Damascus designed under the direction of Samir Younes, received the Dean’s Award for Excellence and an Acanthus Award from the ICAA. Following graduation she moved to Montgomery, Alabama to work for the new firm of Tippett Sease Baker Architecture. The firm was formed by three partners, formerly partners at McAlpine. The firm works exclusively in hand drawing and focuses on traditional vernacular architecture. Kate is a visiting professor for the 2021-2022 academic year and continues to work as an architectural designer & project manager for Tippett Sease Baker Architecture.
