What is Art? What is Craft? In the early 20thcentury the Guild of Saint Joseph and Saint Dominic, a group of English artist and craftspeople living in the village of Ditchling, Sussex, offered its answer. Influenced by the writing of the French philosopher Jacques Maritain Guild members promoted their distinctively Catholic conception of artistic practices.
