The Driehaus Prize is awarded to an architect whose work embodies the principles of traditional and classical architecture in contemporary society.

Prominent
professionals and academics often visit the School of Architecture to share
their wisdom, inspire students and exchange ideas. School-sponsored summer
programs in diverse locations such as China and Cuba, and conferences on
campus and around the country, help introduce students to the ideals of traditional
and classical architecture and how they apply in communities large and small
around the world.
Also in the spring, the School honors a leading architect with The Richard H. Driehaus Prize for a lifetime commitment to traditional and classical architecture at a gala held in Chicago.
