Professor Gil Gorski has received a significant national honor - his recent book The Roman Forum: A Reconstruction and Architectural Guide, co-authored with James E. Packer, has received two coveted PROSE Awards. The book won the overall Award for Excellence in Humanities as well as in the Archaeology and Ancient History category.

Since 1976, the PROSE Awards have been organized by the PSP Division of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) to recognize the best works in professional and scholarly publishing by bringing attention to distinguished books, journals and electronic content. Winners for the prestigious awards were chosen by an independent, 17-person panel of peer editors, publishers and librarians who judged how noteworthy and original their contributions are to the professional and scholarly publishing world.
