A team of Master of Design Studies students at Harvard University concentrating in Real Estate and the Built Environment took second place in the MIT Center for Real Estate CASE Competition. Dylan Lazovik, Jason McAlees,Carly Jane Zapernick and Notre Dame alumna Andrea Raynal represented Harvard in London, where 42 teams from academic institutions around the world competed at a forum hosted by AACRE (Alumni Association of the MIT Center for Real Estate).

The CASE brief called for a redevelopment plan for ITV headquarters located in the South Bank neighborhood of London on the River Thames. The GSD team proposed to replace the existing inefficient office and television studio space with more efficient and sustainable space for ITV and added 131 flats, a 300-key hotel, and neighborhood retail to activate both the river walk and Upper Ground Street.
