Fifth-year
students participating in the South Bend Downtown Design Studio under the
direction of Professor John Stamper presented 10 different designs for the
new Studebaker National Museum to be located just west of downtown South
Bend. Each design was 50,000 square feet with a gift shop, exhibition spaces,
a workshop, curatorial offices and storage. The proposals connect the museum
to the existing Northern Indiana Center for History and renovate an existing
two-story commercial building also located on the site.
