Robert Adam named 15th Richard H. Driehaus Prize Laureate

Robert Adam, an architect known for his scholarship as well as his practice, has been named the recipient of the 2017 Richard H. Driehaus Prize at the University of Notre Dame. The late James Sloss Ackerman, architectural historian, has been named the Henry Hope Reed Award winner.  And the Congress for the New Urbanism will be presented a special award.

Tradition and Creativity in High-Rise Studio Projects

A group of fifth-year architecture students spent the fall semester in the high-rise studio with Professor John Stamper, Associate Dean and Director of Undergraduate Studies and a leading expert on both the history and development of North Michigan Avenue in Chicago.  Over the course of three months, students learned to look beyond the wonderment of high-rise structures to understand their technological and functional requirements.
