The Urban Architecture Studio at Glavé & Holmes Architecture is seeking to fill an Intern architect position. The Urban Architecture (UA) Studio, one of six studios in the firm, is primarily focused on the design of buildings that enhance the civic realm, recognizing that quality of space between buildings is critical to a sense of place and the creation of livable communities. The UA Studio is engaging both the private sector, with multi-family residential and mixed-use projects, and the public sector with institutional projects that are part of the public realm.
The roles and responsibilities of an Intern architect include broad exposure to many aspects of project delivery, including participation in developing design concepts, creating presentation materials, working on construction documents and assisting in construction administration.
Desirable credentials and abilities include:
- As a guide, up to 3 years of experience
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Passion for design excellence, collaborative spirit, willingness to learn, a and sense of humor
- Interest in cities and urban design, particularly traditional urban forms
- Abilities with graphic design, including fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, hand drawing and sketching
- Interest in being a generalist in the practice of architecture – ability to focus on multiple scales, from detail to master plan
