The University of Notre Dame School of Architecture holds an important place in the lives and careers of its alumni and friends. School of Architecture alumni who have distinguished themselves in the world of art and architecture include such diverse professionals as Terence Riley, director of the Miami Art Museum; Marianne Cusato, designer of Lowe’s “Katrina Cottage;” and Gene Bertoncini, a master guitarist and former member of the “Tonight Show” band. Alumni often lend their expertise to student design reviews. There is an annual Notre Dame Architecture Alumni reception at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Convention, and frequent receptions around the country with alumni and School administrators. Like the University of Notre Dame itself, the School's connection with its alumni remains strong because this is a place where inspiration, faith, and the drive to achieve combine to produce extraordinary results.
