Due to a significant increase in Notre Dame Architecture majors in recent years, the School has not been able to accept transfer students fall semester of the sophomore year --- the only semester students are permitted to transfer into the program.
Since the School cannot predict what the numbers will be like for next year's sophomore class, potential students are encouraged to apply with the understanding that no transfer students may be admitted. A student's chance of acceptance is enhanced if he or she has strong freehand drawing, watercolor and hand drafting and rendering skills. Sending a portfolio of work is highly encouraged. The School also looks favorably upon students who have taken courses in art and architectural history.
