Tuition & Fees

Tuition and Fees

For the most up-to-date information, please see the Office of Financial Aid’s estimate for the average cost of attendance.  Annual increases should be anticipated.

All Notre Dame undergraduate students are eligible for need-based financial aid in the form of scholarships, student loans and work study.  Please visit the Office of Financial Aid website for complete information.

Architectural Supplies

Beginning with the first-semester drawing course, undergraduate Architecture students acquire drawing tools and supplies which can be used throughout the academic program and beyond in professional practice. In the course of the five year program, this will total about $1,000 heavily weighted in the first three semesters.  Faculty make  an effort to help prioritize the supply list so that students might budget more effectively; and the School offers the opportunity to purchase some of the larger scale items through the School's website at a small discount—and to ease the issue of transport.  Renewable items such as paper, pencil lead, etc. might expect to cost $150 per academic year, depending on the nature of the studio courses in a particular year.

To promote an environment of economic inclusivity that empowers students to thrive in the School of Architecture, the Architecture Student Opportunity Fund helps offset the cost of architectural equipment, supplies, and other resources and opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students with limited economic resources. Each year, eligible students are able to receive funds to help purchase the drawing tools, renewable supplies, and other materials they need. Eligibility is determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Funding for the Architecture Student Opportunity Fund is made possible through the generosity of School of Architecture alumni and friends

Rome Studies Program

Printing & Plotting

A print quota is set for all undergraduate students on campus for "regular" printing on 8 1/2x11 and 11x17 sheet sizes of $10 per semester (at a rate of $.02 per B&W page and $.12 per color page).  Students may add to their print quota through the Office of Information Technologies.  Access to plotters and large scale scanners is free of charge for all School of Architecture students. A laser cutter is available for course-related projects at no charge; for personal projects, there is a fee of $5 per 10 minutes of laser time. 3-D model printing may be arranged through the School of Architecture Library at a cost of $0.25/gram.
